LASM is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Mardi Gras, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Beginning December 6, 2008 20-minute guided tours will be offered each Saturday in the following areas: Ancient Egypt Gallery at 11:00 AM, Solar System Gallery at 1:00 PM and Art Galleries at 3:00 PM.
Gallery Hours
LASM galleries will be open:

* Discovery Depot and Science Station close Tuesday-Friday at 3 p.m.
during school semesters.
Hours are extended until 4 p.m. during the holiday seasons and spring
break. The hours are also extended to 4 p.m. during the summer.
Irene W. Pennington Planetarium will be open:

Planetarium shows are on the hour. Doors open for ticket sales only, 30 minutes prior to first show of the day. No late admittance to the shows will be permitted.

General Discounts
LASM members receive discounts on show and special exhibit tickets.
Visitors with a valid AAA card receive $1 off general admission.
Individual members of Louisiana Association of Museums receive free general admission with a valid card.
Two adults and two children living in the same household receive free general admission if they present a valid membership card from an ASTC institution.
Discounts are not applicable for planetarium shows, large-format films or special exhibits.
Group Tours
Groups over 15
Groups of more than 15 people require a reservation. Please call (225)

coordinator to request a reservation.
School Group Tours
Museum tours introduce students of all ages to LASM’s exhibits and hands-on
galleries. Group coordinators schedule activities based on the age of
their group and the availability of the exhibits. Groups may take 30-minute
tours in each of the following areas: Egyptian Gallery, Art Galleries,
Discovery Depot, Science Station, and Solar System Gallery.
Tours are available Tuesday-Friday during the school year and require a reservation.
