Monthly Programs for Children and Families

First Sundays
The First Sunday of Every Month

On the First Sunday of every month, LASM offers free admission to art, children's and planetarium galleries, and reduced admission to special exhibitions, sky shows, and digital movies. Please come and visit us and see all that LASM has to offer!

Engineer It
Third Saturday of Every Month, 1-2:30 PM

This innovative new weekend program designed exclusively for children ages 6–12 and their parents or caregivers introduces youngsters to a variety of engineering concepts, sparking creativity, problem solving and higher-order thinking skills. Participants will also experience the relevance of math, science, technology, and design in their daily lives. The primary goal of the program is to help audiences gain literacy and appreciation for engineering and design.

The bridge design exercise will guide participants to discover and discuss the connections between the science topics of force, balance, and stability. Have fun and connect with your children as they become novice engineers through this hands-on-learning activity. What an enjoyable, educational way to spend a Saturday afternoon together!

The same class will be repeated on the third Saturday of every month through the end of May.

Viewing & Doing Art!
The First Saturday of Every Month, 10:30 AM-12:00 PM

Visit the art gallery, discuss the works currently on view, and pick up a little inspiration. Then, you and your family get to express yourselves through a hands-on art project of your very own! Viewing and Doing Art! will be held on the first Saturday of each month, and sign-in will take place in the atrium from 10 AM until all spaces are filled.
