Art After Hours: The Substance of Art

What is art made of?
Journey through the science of art beginning with an informal tour of Polymers in Art through the Centuries with LSU professor of chemistry John Pojman. Artist Shelby Prindaville will also provide a demonstration of 3P QuickCure Clay, a fast-drying, cure-on demand polymer clay invented by Pojman.
Next, go behind the scenes with New Orleans artist Monica Zeringue for a look at her current exhibition, Absence & Presence: The Moons of Monica Zeringue.
Along the way, preview an excerpt from local dance company Of Moving Colors’s adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, featuring live music by violist and composer Christian Frederickson.
Also open for viewing will be A Work in Process: Paintings by Gustave Blache III and It’s Academic: A Hands-On Art Experience.
