International Moon Observation Day

Louisiana Art & Science Museum

Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00am - 2:00pm

Join us in in celebration of International Observe the Moon Night! During the day, we will have hands-on activities, a presentation of moon rock samples, and special planetarium shows that explore the scientific and cultural importance of our closest celestial neighbor. Catch showings of  Earth's Wild Ride at 10:30 AM and Earth, Moon & Sun at 12, 2, and 4 PM.

In Earth's Wild Ride, you will visit a Moon colony in 2018 during a solar eclipse, and experience an exciting ride across both the Earth and Moon as a grandfather tells his grandchildren stories of Earth and teaches them about the differences between our Earth and Moon

In Earth, Moon & Sun explore the Earth, Moon and Sun with Coyote, an amusing character adapted from Native American oral traditions.

We will also be giving away Galileoscopes in the planetarium during a drawing before the shows at 10:30 AM, 12 and 2 PM. Use it to observe the beautiful Waxing Gibbous expected for that evening!

General admission.
