Experience zip lining on scorched Mercury, hang gliding over the hydrocarbon lakes of Titan, driving a monster truck along a lunar crater wall, and much more. We can experience these off-world adventures now while we wait for the future to arrive. This show was produced in part by LASM and a collaboration with Houston Museum of Natural Science and Rice University, made possible by a grant from the National Aeronautic and Space Administration.

Super Volcanoes is an immersive planetarium show that looks back at some of the most explosive and historic eruptions on planet Earth, including the legendary North American hot spot, Yellowstone National Park. The program moves beyond Earth to explore the impact of giant volcanic eruptions around our solar system. Audiences will fly down to Neptune’s frigid moon Triton, and onto the ultimate volcanic world: Jupiter’s moon Io. Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch.
From the Blue Planet to the Red Planet

Journey to the year 2132 as we follow Carina, a young woman stationed on Mars, as she communicates with her brother Aidan back on Earth. Experience living on a futuristic Mars colony, and ride a rover across the Martian surface. Children and adults alike will learn about the differences between Earth and Mars and what it might be like to live and work on another planet.

This visual and audio sensory adventure combines a variety of ambient-pop and chill-out melodies with the magical world of 3D animation imagery. Summer Sky Tonight 2014
Running before Supervolcanoes starting June 20
Take a tour of the summer evening stars, constellations, planets and deep sky objects. After a timelapse sunset at University Lake in Baton Rouge, find Venus at twilight then explore the zodiac. Identify Saturn and Mars then visit these planets up close. Among the zodiac constellations Sagittarius and Scorpius are many glowing clouds of gas called nebulae. The story of the summer sky is told through the lens of star birth and star death, both of which happen inside of nebulae. Experience the formation of the Ring Nebula from the death of a sun-like star, then witness the formation of a new star inside the Trifid Nebula.
Relentless Night is a fulldome short film that immerses the viewer atop the extinct volcano of Maunakea in the Central Pacific, amongst the biggest collection of telescopes ever built. Derived from the series, Awesome Light, the footage was shot over 4 years in stereo fisheye. The film provides unique views of the remarkable summit landscape at over 4,000 metres and the nightly ballet of these magnifi cent machines that search for secrets in the stars. Set to the haunting beauty of the Eliza Aria re-tuned to a powerful dubstep mix, Relentless Night pays homage to this tour de force of scientific discovery.

This show features timelapse footage from around the United States that takes the viewer on a journey through the four seasons. Learn how our Earth's tilt causes our seasons to change, how seasonal changes effect plants and animals in different areas of the country, and how the seasons bring different types of weather. Experience sunsets on the Pacific Coast, the deserts of Utah, and the woods of Yellowstone National Park.
