Fee: $110 members, $125 non-members

Kids spend five days under the stars identifying constellations and planets, making their own telescopes, and creating a comet at LASM’s Irene W. Pennington Planetarium! They also learn to model the solar system, identify the moon’s phases, tell time by the stars, get closer to black holes, and find out just how far it is to the edge of our own known universe! Each camper receives a camp t-shirt, astronomy workbook, and essential equipment for the galactic explorer. To register, call 225-344-5272, ext. 142.

June in the Lab: The pHun Factor
Lemons and vinegar, bananas and baking soda... What do these seemingly weird pairings have in common? Come explore the pH scale using two very different methods in this month’s Kids’ Lab program. Do you have a nose for chemistry?
Explore the dynamic world of chemistry in hands-on Kids' Lab workshops for children ages 6-12 and a parent or caregiver. One adult caregiver is required for every four children, and participants must sign in at least 20 minutes before the workshop.
Kids' Lab is free for LASM members and included in the price of general admission for non-members. Participants may sign up on a first come, first served basis on the day of each program. By contacting kidslab@lasm.org, members may also pre-register by noon Thursday prior to the weekend program, and groups may schedule in advance.
Kids' Lab is sponsored by:
