Artist's Perspective: Photography Panel Discussion

John H. Lawrence, director of museum programs at the Historic New Orleans Collection, will moderate this lively discussion about the use of new photographic mediums, the choice to continue traditional photographic processes, and photography as an art form today. Panelists include photographers William Greiner, A. J. Meek, Victoria Ryan, David Humphreys, and Jim Zeitz. This event is held in conjunction with A Couple of Ways of Doing Something: Photographs by Chuck Close / Poems by Bob Holman. Free and open to the public.

LA Capitale Chapter of LINKS Annual Event: Heritage Performance
Friday, February 27, 7:00 PM

Experience the haunting beauty of Negro spirituals as performed by Heritage, a non-profit professional choral ensemble dedicated to restoring and preserving this unique art form. Ethnomusicologist Dr. Joyce Jackson will narrate the performance, which will be followed by a reception. Heritage has performed throughout North America and Europe, and recorded an album in Paris. Heritage members are all volunteers from the Baton Rouge community. The program and reception, sponsored by LA Capitale Chapter of LINKS, Inc., are free and open to the public.
