Egyptian
LASM houses one of the southern United States' few permanent displays dedicated to ancient Egypt. The Ancient Egypt Gallery's simulated rock-cut Ptolemaic-era tomb is home to a 2,300-year-old mummy. Other displays include ancient Egyptian artifacts, a timeline, maps, and information about the religious and burial customs of the ancient Egyptians. Renovated in 2007, the gallery’s all-new interpretive text, including updated information about the mummy, was provided by Egyptologists and other scholars.
Below is a sampling of Egypt-related items available in The Museum Store at LASM. If you are interested in purchasing any of the items below, please call (225) 344-5272, ext. 118, for assistance, or visit us during regular museum hours.
