Eat Like an Egyptian: A Talk, Tasting & Mini Bazaar
On Thursday, November 7, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Eat Like an Egyptian: A Talk, Tasting and Mini Bazaar is an exclusive evening event that will consist of a panel discussion in the storied Adalie Brent Auditorium and feature a variety of local food experts who can relate their specialties—including spices, bread, cheese, honey, beer, and tea—to ancient or modern Egyptian cuisine. Each expert will speak for approximately 5-10 minutes about their product.
After the talk concludes, we will enjoy the tasting portion of the event in the Bert S. Turner Family Atrium. Panelists will each have a designated table where they may interact with guests as they sample their specialties and sell their products, though LASM will supply a food table and a beer and wine bar as well.
The art galleries will be open for guests to view, including the new Discoveries on the Nile: Exploring King Tut's Tomb and the Amin Egyptian Collection exhibition. On October 4th, 2024, the Louisiana Art & Science Museum will open this exhibition on display through September 2025, giving lifelong learners nearly a full year to enjoy and explore all things Egypt.
We have developed a year-long lineup of exciting programming that will focus on different aspects of Egypt and Egyptian life, and this will be the first of many.
Tickets for the evening will be priced at $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
