Light LASM: The Star of BR

Help us Light LASM: The Star of BR in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium in 2023.

Did you know that the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium is the largest and most technologically advanced planetarium in the state of Louisiana? During the day, LASM is a bright spot of creativity, but by night the exterior of the museum is a black hole. Help us light up not only the planetarium dome but also the entire historic building to honor the planetarium's 20th anniversary in 2023.

We cannot thank the Carole & Charles Lamar Fund of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, the Charles Lamar Family Foundation, and the Irene W. and C. B. Pennington Foundation enough for providing the generous funding needed to kick off our campaign and light the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium dome, but we need the community’s help to achieve our goal to light other parts of our historic building’s exterior.

You can help us reach our goal by:

Donating $20 when you exit the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium

When you donate $20 in the DipJar outside of the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, you will be entered into our Light LASM Giveaway. The first of each month, we will draw a name from our DipJar list to win a LASM Family Membership and TWO tickets to our 38th Annual Gala: Out of This World on Friday, October 6th.
