Light LASM: The Star of BR

Help us Light LASM: The Star of BR in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium in 2023.

Did you know that the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium is the largest and most technologically advanced planetarium in the state of Louisiana? During the day, LASM is a bright spot of creativity, but by night the exterior of the museum is a black hole. Help us light up not only the planetarium dome but also the entire historic building to honor the planetarium's 20th anniversary in 2023.

Thank you to the Charles Lamar Family Foundation and the Irene W. and C.B. Pennington Foundation for providing funding to start our campaign, but we need your help to get us to our goal. If just a quarter of our planetarium visitors this year gave $5, we would exceed our goal of $50,000 to Light LASM.

You can help us reach our goal by:

  • Purchasing a Mimosa Handcrafted commemorative LASM Anniversary Piece (details to come soon)
  • Participating in Anniversary Public Programming at the LASM
  • Donating $20 when you exit the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium

And when you donate $20 in the DipJar outside of the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, you will be entered into our Light LASM Giveaway. The first of each month, we will draw a name from our DipJar list to win a LASM Family Membership and TWO tickets to our 38th Annual Gala: Out of This World on Friday, October 6th.
