May Free First Sunday: All STEM Leads to Rome

Join us on Sunday, May 5, from 1 PM – 5 PM for May Free First Sunday: All STEM Leads to Rome, with free admission generously sponsored by BASF.

Creatively explore the connections between Classical Chemistry & Engineering during this free admission event featuring hands-on activities and demonstrations facilitated by Classics students from Glasgow Middle School and the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. Participants will fire a catapult, build an arch, write on papyrus, create a mosaic, and design a bridge during this multigenerational learning experience. Hands-on history activities are also sponsored by the Classical Association of the Middle West and South in collaboration with Nathalie R. Roy, NBCT, 2021 Louisiana State Teacher of the Year.

Visitors will also explore LASM's art and science galleries, view unlimited, immersive shows in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, and engage in BASF Pop-up science activities.
