Studio Saturday: Boats with Beth Welch, An Oil Painting Workshop
Join the Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) for Studio Saturday: Oil Painting Workshop with Beth Welch!
Experience the art of oil painting with renowned Baton Rouge artist Beth Welch at LASM’s next Studio Saturday on December 14. Welch will guide participants in painting boats on wooden panels, creating unique artworks that reflect her signature style of using wood grain to represent water.
Workshop Details:
- Date: Saturday, December 14
- Times: Two sessions: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Location: Classroom 1 at LASM
- Ages: 14 and older
- Cost: $85 for non-members, $65 for LASM members
All materials are provided, including easels, paints, brushes, and panels. This workshop is open to both beginners and experienced painters. Participants will learn Welch’s methods for image transfer, realistic painting, and color-mixing, resulting in a personal work of art to take home.
Beth Welch is a prominent local artist, a Baton Rouge Gallery member, and a skilled instructor with over a decade in the arts community. Her work has been exhibited nationwide, and she brings a passion for teaching techniques that bring nautical themes to life.
Registration: Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
