Science Station

Designed for children ages seven to twelve, the interactive exhibits and educational games in Science Station make life science, earth science, physical science, and math relevant and fun.

Exhibits such as the Whisper Dish, Plasma Ball, and Ball Maze invite children to explore sound, light, logic, and motion. Human anatomy models and brain-teasing puzzles reveal even more wonders of scientific discovery.

The interactive Nano exhibition engages audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology. Hands-on displays present the basics of nanoscience and engineering, introduce some real world applications, and explore the societal and ethical implications of this new technology.

Science Station also features Calories in, Calories Out, a full-body, interactive exhibit, where visitors are presented with a unique way to compare the amount of time and energy it takes to burn off the calories of various snacks. Simply select a snack and pedal away to discover the balance of calories in and calories out.

The Nano exhibit was acquired through a grant from the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Network) with support from the National Science Foundation. Calories In, Calories Out  is sponsored by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation and Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation.
