*On Saturdays and Sundays, the last entry of the day will be admitted at 4 PM, which is when the last Irene W. Pennington Planetarium show of the day begins.
**Free admission to the museum, which includes unlimited Irene W. Pennington Planetarium shows, is available every first Sunday of the month! Sponsored by Mr. Madison Lamar.
The Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesday, plus the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Mardi Gras, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Please note that our hands-on children's galleries, Discovery Depot and Science Station, remain closed at this time due to COVID-19.
Unlimited Irene W. Pennington Planetarium shows are included with admission.

Small, in-person groups tours are now permissible with approval from the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal. Groups of up to 15 (larger groups can be divided into smaller sub-groups) can now book an Irene W. Pennington Planetarium show plus tours of two galleries (Solar System Gallery, Ancient Egypt Gallery, Main Art Galleries). Discounted rate of $10 per person (up to 15), plus one free educator. Safety Information/Mask Guidelines:
Masks are now recommended, but not required, for visitors ages 5 and up who have not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19. Those visiting as part of a school group tour may abide by their school's masking guidelines.
