Celebrate Free First “Random Acts of Science” Sunday at LASM on June 6

The Louisiana Art & Science Museum invites the community to celebrate Free First “Random Acts of Science” Sunday on June 6 from 1–5 PM, featuring free general admission generously sponsored by ExxonMobil and a special $5 unlimited pass for all shows at the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium.

As part of LASM’s Beat the Heat Summer Series, the day will feature live demonstrations and hands-on activities led by ExxonMobil volunteers. These “Random Acts of Science” experiences are designed to surprise, engage, and inspire visitors of all ages throughout the museum.

This monthly event welcomes families, students, and lifelong learners to explore the Louisiana Art & Science Museum’s dynamic exhibitions and interactive experiences at no cost. From ancient civilizations to cutting-edge science, LASM offers engaging STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programming for all ages. Visitors can explore the Ancient Egypt Gallery, home to a 2,300-year-old Ptolemaic-era mummy, along with other museum favorites including a 66-million-year-old Triceratops skull and hands-on exhibits designed to spark creativity and discovery.

Planetarium fans can enjoy a full afternoon of immersive shows for just $5, granting unlimited access to all scheduled screenings throughout the day. The Museum Store will also be open, offering a curated selection of STEAM-themed books, toys, and gifts to extend learning beyond the museum walls.
