Opening August 15, 2026 at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum
Reflections: The Art of George Rodrigue celebrates the life, artistry, and enduring legacy of one of Louisiana's most influential artists. Featuring a selection of Rodrigue's iconic works, the exhibition explores his deep connection to Louisiana's culture, landscapes, and stories, from his early Cajun-themed paintings to the internationally recognized Blue Dog series. Reflections features works from Rodrigue's swamp dog series, Hollywood stars, and other unique works on metal & chrome.
Organized by the George Rodrigue Life & Legacy Foundation, the exhibition will be accompanied by educational programming, public lectures, docent training, community outreach initiatives, and special events designed to engage visitors of all ages.

Studio Saturday: Reflections

Celebrate the opening day of Reflections: The Art of George Rodrigue with a special Studio Saturday inspired by the exhibition. Led by LASM Assistant Curator & Museum Preparator Beth Welch, participants will explore Rodrigue's distinctive artistic style, vibrant use of color, and iconic imagery while creating their own artwork inspired by Louisiana's landscapes, culture, and traditions.
Art After Hours: Back to School with Blue Dog
Tuesday, August 25 | 6 PM - 7:30 PM
Kick off the school year with a special Blue Dog-themed Art After Hours celebrating Reflections: The Art of George Rodrigue. The evening will feature a special talk by Wendy Rodrigue—artist, author, and President of the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts—who will share stories about George Rodrigue's life, artwork, and enduring legacy.
Admission is free for educators and LASM members.
