Sensory Second Sunday

During these hours, lighting throughout the space is dimmed, background music is played at a low volume, and designated quiet areas are available for anyone who needs a break. Guests can also access fidget toys, noise-reducing headphones, and a variety of accessible art supplies to support different sensory and learning needs.

In addition, the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium will offer captioned shows, providing an inclusive and engaging experience for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. Sensory Second Sunday encourages visitors to explore, create, and enjoy at their own pace in a supportive and accommodating environment.
