Read & Create!
Join us every Thursday of this June at 1:30 PM for our Read and Create program!
Children ages 3-8 and their accompanying adults are invited to join us for a museum guide-led story time and art activity in the Republic Finance Gallery.
This program is included with museum admission and is free for members as a part of our "Beat the Heat" Summer Series.
This June, LASM invites families and visitors to Beat the Heat with a dynamic Summer Series designed to entertain, educate, and inspire. Beginning Wednesday, June 4, guests can enjoy a full lineup of weekly programs, offering something new each day—all in the cool, comfortable setting of the museum and the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium.
Beyond its summer programming, LASM features a diverse range of permanent and rotating exhibitions that celebrate the intersection of art and science. Highlights include a 2,300-year-old Ptolemaic-era mummy, a 66-million-year-old Triceratops skull, and the current exhibition, Discoveries on the Nile: Exploring King Tut’s Tomb and the Amin Egyptian Collection, which immerses visitors in the world of ancient Egypt. Interactive, hands-on spaces throughout the museum engage guests of all ages with a strong focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education. The LASM Museum Store complements these experiences with a curated selection of STEAM-themed books, toys, and gifts to extend learning beyond the visit.
With something happening every day this June, LASM's Summer Series offers the perfect way to stay cool, get creative, and explore the wonders of art and science.
Note that Read & Create is also every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at 11:15 AM in the Republic Finance Gallery, in case you miss it!
