Our galleries bridge disciplines by integrating art, science, history, and more.
Wow your students with unique object-based learning opportunities – such as experiencing an authentic mummified person and viewing a real Triceratops skull – that are only available at LASM. Tours are adapted based on grade levels.

Ancient Egypt Gallery Guided Tour
Enter a recreated tomb that houses…
Enter a recreated tomb that houses an authentic, 2,300-year-old mummified person, and learn how modern technology revealed some of its secrets. Your students will learn about the ancient Egyptians’ civilization, beliefs, and customs, and how these people interacted with their Greek and Roman neighbors during the Ptolemaic period (323-30 BC). Your students will also view authentic masks worn by mummified people and learn about ancient Egyptian funerary customs. We strongly recommend booking the King Tut Exhibition Guided Tour AND the Ancient Egypt Gallery Guided Tour.
Hands-On Activity Add-On
Add an engaging, Ancient Egypt-related hands-on activity to make your students’ tours come to life! You may book the Hands-On Activity Add-On for either the Ancient Egypt Gallery OR the King Tut Exhibition Guided Tour.
Add-On will make your Gallery Guided Tour 60 minutes and $6 per student & parent/chaperone.

Bring your students into the world of one of Louisiana’s most celebrated artists through Reflections: The Art of George Rodrigue. This exhibition offers educators a unique opportunity to explore the life, artistic evolution, and lasting legacy of George Rodrigue while connecting students to Louisiana’s rich cultural heritage. Featuring a diverse selection of Rodrigue’s iconic works—from his early Cajun-inspired paintings and swamp dog series to Hollywood portraits, striking works on metal and chrome, and the internationally acclaimed Blue Dog series—Reflections invites students to examine storytelling, symbolism, artistic techniques, and the ways artists interpret place, identity, and popular culture. This gallery experience encourages observation, discussion, and cross-curricular connections in art, history, and Louisiana studies, making it an engaging educational field trip for learners of all ages.

Investigate the history of our Solar…
Investigate the history of our Solar System, from astronomy to geology and paleontology.
Your students will encounter interactive displays that allow them to learn about gravity, virtually travel to the Moon, and more. An exhibit of minerals and fossils, including a 65-million-year-old authentic Triceratops prorsus skull, will teach your students about our aging planet.

Your students will engage with state-of-the-art exhibits including a Rube Goldberg Machine Wall, an Interactive Periodic Table, an Everbright, and more. In the Curiosity Cabinet displays, hands-on activities related to our collection and current exhibitions provide additional learning opportunities.
