Every first Sunday of the month from 1 PM - 5 PM

Free First Sunday

In addition, we provide the reduced admission price of $5 for unlimited Irene W. Pennington planetarium shows.

This monthly event offers families, students, and lifelong learners the opportunity to explore LASM’s wide range of dynamic exhibitions and interactive experiences at no cost. From ancient artifacts to modern STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education, LASM delivers immersive and inspiring learning for all ages.

Visitors can travel through time with Discoveries on the Nile: Exploring King Tut’s Tomb and the Amin Egyptian Collection which brings ancient Egypt to life through reproductions of artifacts from the tomb of King Tut and authentic Egyptian funeral masks. Other museum highlights include a 2,300-year-old Ptolemaic-era mummy, a 66-million-year-old Triceratops skull, and numerous interactive exhibits that spark creativity and scientific curiosity.

In addition to exhibitions, guests can enjoy a full afternoon of captivating planetarium shows for just $5, no matter how many shows they attend. The Museum Store will also be open, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of STEAM-themed books, toys, and gifts to continue the experience at home.

Don’t miss this opportunity for discovery, learning, and family fun at the heart of downtown Baton Rouge.
